The intended journey in 1860 that Robert OHara Burke and William John Wills took was to be the first white men to cross Australia from south to north.

They set off with John King and Charles Gray taking with them one horse, six camels and supplies to last for three months.

We wont take this long and wont travel the full distance BUT will certainly get a taste of the journey they encountered.

Oh, and we will have much better supplies and equipment too!

This will be the final departure to one of our most popular remote destinations. We have included a few favourites in this departure ie:- Cruise on the darling at Bourke with a campfire dinner, cross the Paroo Flood Plain to historic opal town of Whitecliffs onto Tibooburra, Cameron Corner (intersection of NSW, SA, QLD).

Cruise on the Cooper Creek and view its amazing bird life. Explore the remote outpost of Innaminka, visit the famous Dig Tree, Charlotte Plains Station (a genuine working sheep and cattle property) steeped in history and memorabillia. Take a look at the Cunnamulla Fella and so much more.

Aldinga Tours have been touring Tasmania for 27 years and we have hand-picked our favourites to ensure you will have a memorable tour.

Come with us to discover a place which is magnificent and wild, full of stories, history and colourful characters.

Australia?s smallest state has over 40 per cent of its land reserved as national parks and world heritage wilderness making it a wonderful touring destination. Cruise the Arthur River situated in the greatest expanse of cool temperate rainforest in Australia at the Tarkine; visit the most photographed waterfall in Tasmania at Mount Field National Park and cruise in the wild Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park with its dramatic mountain peaks, spectacular gorges and world-famous rivers.

The West Coast Wilderness Railway has us travelling aboard a steam train from a bygone era which journeys deep into Tasmanian wilderness. Hear about the hardship of creating a railway through rugged terrain, across deep gorges and up steep mountains under the power of the only operating Abt rack and pinion railway still working in the Southern Hemisphere.

Enjoy the stories of Tasmania at Yarns Artwork in Silk where large quilted silk panels were created by the people of the Meander Valley showing their life; Port Arthur Penal Settlement includes a guided walking tour and harbour cruise and The Ship That Never Was which is Australia?s longest running play and tells of the escape from Sarah Island, the harshest penal settlement in Tasmania.

Our accommodation is mostly in 4 star properties to ensure you have a comfortable stay with all breakfasts and three course dinners included. Most lunches are also included with a highlight being the Distillery Caf? at Hellyers Road Distillery.

From the moment you board our Coach, you will be treated to a high standard of accommodation, attractions and friendly service to ensure you have a quality holiday.
