9th September, 2018 to 24th September, 2018 (16 days) Cost: $5210pp/ts SS: $960 extra
In September 2018 Aldinga Tours will conduct a 16 day tour to Western Australia. Travelling with Paul will be Kevin Stokes. Kevin has been involved with the Australian Plants Society and the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens for many years during which time he has developed an appreciation of the flora of Australia, particularly that of the arid areas and the South West of W.A.
Travel will be by luxury coach with motel over night accommodation. The tour will take in many scenic areas and points of interest as well as discovering and viewing the incredible wildflowers of the West and a visit to the King's Park Botanic Garden.
The travel across the remoteness of the Nullabor Plain is an adventure on its own. Far from being a lifeless desert the Nullabor is a place full of life and interesting plants. Although different perhaps to what most think of as Wildflowers they are non the less interesting in their own right.
Travelling from Lake Macquarie across the continent we will cross many botanical zones each with their own flora and beauty. The largest will be the Arid Zone where many unusual plants reside. The South West of Western Australia has many places of interest and beauty and a number are famous throughout the World. It is also a bio-diversity hot spot and contains more species of plants in one place than anywhere else in the world.
Along with the flora there are visits to the Great Australian Bight. Esperance and Cape Le Grand National Park, Fitzgerald River National Park, Albany, Stirling Ranges N.P. and cruises at Albany and Walpole with an opportunity to see the famous Valley of the Giants and the Gloucester Tree near Pemberton.
The trip will offer opportunities for plant identification and viewing and also many chances to participate in macro photography and perhaps an on trip photo competition. Advice will be available to those interested in trying their hand and not sure how to take good flower images.
There will be an information night held in April 2018 when those interested will be able to learn more about the trip and another night for participants to discuss the
final details and what to bring.
There are many features on this trip too numerous to mention here. Make sure you call Paul or Barbara on 02 4950 5050 for more inromation or click Request Information below.
